The United States of Obama
If that portion of the electorate that voted for him thinks it has achieved victory, it is vastly mistaken. The economic growth of the country will remain stagnate along with Europe, the poor will become poorer and more dependent with little hope of advancing to the middle class, the middle class will continue to shrink, and the government will get bigger and more intrusive stifling investment and opportunity. Public sector unions will become even more powerful and demand even more pay and benefits. Even FDR opposed public sector unions.
Energy costs will continue to rise and the country's infrastructure will fall into increased disrepair. What the government doesn't control, it will tax until it runs out of other people's money as Margaret Thatcher so wisely said, and if it runs out, as it already has, it will borrow or print even more.
The deficit will continue to grow exponentially. The 16 plus trillion right now will grow to about 24 trillion by end of 2016. The executive branch will continue to push entitlements and Congress will not have the votes or the willpower to cut entitlements and the budget significantly. Taxes will increase and revenue from taxes will continue to stagnate or drop in a lackluster economy. Any budget resolution will raise taxes while promising budget cuts that will never happen.
It will continue it's nationalization of the health care system resulting in less quality health care and drive competent doctors and hospitals into private care where they will only serve those with money and/or high cost private health insurance. Medicare and Medicaid will not have the money to care for those in the program and the life span for those people will begin to shrink.
Our enemies will take advantage of America's decline and advance their economic and military control over the rest of the world. Iran will get nuclear weapons and Israel's existence will be in doubt. Other nations will develop nuclear weapons to counter the Iranian threat and the world will become like the wild west. America will cease to be the beacon of freedom or the "shining city on the hill".
I don't know how long this deteriorating process will take, but I have lost faith in the electorate with it's zombie like voting. Our democracy cannot work without an informed and educated public. I would like to feel more optimistic of course. Maybe Americans will find a way to work out of this mess. For instance, maybe the States could take matters into their own hands and start to control their own destiny and find ways to separate themselves from the federal system. If we don't find a way to see ourselves clear, the America we once knew is lost.

We Need a True Conservative Message
Right now the media is trying to foster a battle between the candidates so that the anti-Obama conservative message is lost in the shuffle. The candidates, especially Romney and Gingrich are falling into the media's trap by continually focusing on each other's flaws and agreeing to answer the media's line of questioning about social or comparatively minor issues rather than keeping it focused on exposing Obama for what he really is, and for what he is doing that will result in destruction of the economic infrastructure of this country.
We desperately need a candidate that is charismatic and can communicate the true conservative message consistently with conviction as well as expose Obama as the radical he really is. Right now she is one of a very few who can fulfill that role.

My Nightmare
In my dream our country was being transformed into a nation of "takers" (those living off the government). The percentage of "takers" was now over 40%. The percentage of households not paying any federal income tax has reached almost 50%, and one in seven people were using food stamps. In addition about 20% of men between the ages of 24-54 who were capable of working in some capacity were not working. With redistribution of wealth now well underway, we were on our way to have everyone share equally in the misery. The official unemployment rate was at 9%. Our national debt was well over 14 Trillion dollars, and we were continuing to print money and buy loans from ourselves to help pay the bills, hoping to hell that other countries will continue to loan us money as well.
The Justice Department was now taking anti-discrimination cases that only protected non-whites and were once again fostering "sub-prime" loans by intimidating banks into giving loans to supposedly disadvantaged people who couldn't afford to pay back the loan. (Isn't this what caused the financial crisis in the first place). People from other countries, like Mexico, were being encouraged to disregard our borders and just walk across the border rather than stand in line as part of a structured immigration policy. Companies, like Boeing, were being told where they can build airplanes and where they could not. Public sector unions were staging violent protests because they wanted more money from the overtaxed taxpayers to fund exorbitant benefits that the average taxpayer doesn't even get.
Our electrical producing plants can now only use windmills and solar cells if they want to expand. The government is promoting electric cars but no one knows where the additional electricity will come from. Offshore drilling for gas and oil are now stifled by government regulations. Coal is too dirty and nuclear energy is too dangerous in the government's eyes even if most of our electricity comes from coal and nuclear plants. Man-Made Global Warming is officially the main religion of the United States.
Our President was repeatedly apologizing for the United States for all its past "sins" that have protected the freedom we had all enjoyed up to now at least. We chose to assassinate Osama Bin Laden, our #1 enemy, rather than take him alive, but we state that the use of waterboarding to interrogate prisoners is too harsh.
After I woke up I said that this dream can't be really be true. I convinced myself that Barrack Hussein Obama wasn't really our President and these things were not really happening. I thanked God and the moon and stars, and went back to sleep.

Obama Ceding Territory Back to Mexico?
Here we have a President who criticizes Arizona for passing an anti-illegal immigration law to help protect itself and then takes action that, in effect, cedes part of that state to Mexican criminals rather than take appropriate action to defend our borders. This amounts to the President failing to keep his oath to uphold the Constitution of the United States which includes its national security and should be an impeachable offense. This, of course, will hardly happen given this absurdly disastrous and compliant Congress. I'm almost starting to believe that this President may indeed be a "Manchurian Candidate" planted to subvert our Constitution and way of life. It's almost surreal.

Obama, Israel, and Iran
I propose that Israel secretly convey to Obama through backdoor channels that if the U.S. does not take appropriate action to prevent Iran from developing nuclear weapons that it will be forced to strike Iran with conventional weapons including bunker busting bombs. It should add that if Iran retaliates and orders Hezbollah and Hamas to attack as well, and the U.S. does not come to Israel's aid, it would have no choice but to react with everything in it's arsenal including the use of nuclear weapons on Iran. It would tell the Obama administration that it would have no choice in protecting itself. It would say that if Obama chooses to leak this threat and try to spin it against Israel, it will deny it.
Unfortunately, because we have a very weak President who seems intent on appeasing enemies and dissing allies, Israel, as well as other countries that have always relied on U.S. military might, can no longer depend on the U.S. for protection. Our foreign policy has been terribly weakened by this President and it is unfortunate that a good ally like Israel may be forced to issue such a threat to force the U.S. into taking a stand. I don't know if it would work but Israel may have no choice with this president. Will it defend itself much like a grizzly bear backed into a corner, or would it just give up more territory to appease the U.S. and the rest of the world leading ultimately to its demise?

Obama: The First Post-American President
President Reagan once referred to America as the "shining city on the hill" that serves as an example to the world of a prosperous and free society. Well, we can forget that vision as our dear leader is now taking us on a course that will destroy the wealth and opportunities for all Americans and reduce economic and individual freedom. We will become just another socialistic society taking wealth from the productive elements (while it lasts) and converting it to perpetual handouts, thus, destroying the individual's motivation to improve the quality of life for themselves and their family.
Our only hope to turn back his disastrous and destructive policies is through public support for the obvious alternative political agenda of a much smaller less intrusive government, drastically reduced spending, decreased taxes, a strong military, and support for potential candidates aligned with these policies. It may take a few election cycles to reverse the serious damage already done by this administration, but I remain confident that enough of the "real" America is left to make this possible.

Obama's Afghan Retreat
Somehow the President was able to convince his military commanders and Secretary Gates that he means to stick it out given the conditions on the ground, but what are these conditions specifically, and who will interpret these conditions when they are met? The President hopes he can convince our NATO allies to send more troops but their resources are limited. Much of their governments' spending was diverted to the costs of running socialist systems at the expense of their military, plus the fact that they became all too dependent on America's military might to protect them over the last 60 plus years.
I don't remember a time when President Bush put the budget before our national security, but President Obama mentioned the monetary cost of the war in his speech, as well as on other occasions. He is worried the military spending will stifle his very costly socialist agenda. I don't know anything that trumps the cost of protecting our nation, but I feel he thinks much differently. I believe that his heart isn't in this fight against radical Islamic fascism, and his uninspired speech shows it. And Iran - well, that is another matter.

Marxism is Back
The "vetting" process during the 2007/2008 primary normally would have exposed a candidate's background and political philosophy, but the mainstream media totally ignored Obama's radical Marxist/Socialist associations which would have exposed his political agenda and he would have been summarily rejected. But no, instead he was able to mesmerise the media and throngs of people into drinking the "kool-aid" of his message of "change" and "hope". They didn't seem to care what "change" or "hope" he was talking about. This was the perfect stage to allow the possibility of tyranny to reign once they legitimized his election.
The Associated Press recently assigned 11 reporters to fact check Sarah Palin's new book even before it's official release, and I can't think of any fact checking done by them on Barack Obama's two books that been in print for quite sometime. Instead they should be assigning these reporters to fact checking the horrendous health reform and cap and tax bills passed by the House. The media didn't seem to care what influence the Reverend Wright, William Ayres, and other radical associations had on his political philosophy. They still don't seem to care. The media made his fame and so now he is too big to fail in their eyes, so I won't hold my breath.
I know it's hard to believe, but the 2010 elections are going to be a referendum on whether our country will continue to be based on a free market capitalist system or a Marxist/Socialist regime, that is, if it's not too late by the time we get there.

Open Letter on Health Care to Selected Senators/Representatives
am fully against any further intrusion of government into our health
care system. Government meddling is slowly ruining our health care
system and health care will deteriorate further if government
expansion is allowed through a public plan or other requirements
and/or restrictions. Government programs like Medicare and
Medicaid have been one of the primary reasons why health care costs
have increased in the past 40 plus years by passing much of the
provider costs to the private sector and depriving health care
providers with adequate reimbursements. This will only worsen with
any form of a government-funded public option or health “co-op”.
We must also allow health insurers to adequately compete by
reducing the amount of federal and state regulation that discourages
competition across state lines thus giving people more choices. A
combination of increased availability of catastrophic insurance and
health savings accounts along with tax credits is a much better
alternative. Tax credits for U.S. citizens could be used to help
purchase a private plan with further subsidies for those truly in need
economically. This will be a lot cheaper than increasing the federal
intrusion into the industry. Additionally, illegal aliens should NOT be
eligible for government subsidized health care with the exception of
legitimate emergencies. Any emergency health care can be billed to
their home country while they are being safely deported.
More government programs are NOT the answer.

The Example of Medicare
Many Americans want some degree of health care reform. Let's face it, it does have it's flaws, but the flaws aren't totally the fault of the private health insurance industry, nor the health care providers. Rather it is primarily the fault of the very entity that proposes to drastically alter the present system through draconian controls - yes, our government.
Take the Medicare program. It has been around for some 40 plus years and admittedly has increased the availability of health care to the over 65 age group. But at what cost and consequence? Every worker on a payroll pays a Medicare tax and will be automatically eligible at age 65 for Medicare Part A which covers hospital inpatient services only. They will be also eligible for Part B (outpatient and doctor services) for a small premium starting at $96.40/month which goes higher depending on income. The Medicare program tries to contain costs by severely restricting its reimbursements to hospitals, doctors, and other providers. These health care providers then have to make up for their losses by charging higher prices to private insurers and those that self pay. That's why a lot of medical providers are choosing not to participate in Medicare and will not accept patients with Medicare only. Medicaid (health care for the poor) does the same thing and that's why even fewer providers choose to participate. All Medicare (and Medicaid) does is redistribute the higher costs to the private sector and to the public at large.
Even with all the taxes, premiums, and the reduced reimbursements to health care providers, Medicare cannot sustain itself without massive tax increases, increases in premiums, even lower reimbursement rates, further rationing of health care, or raising the eligibility age. So, wouldn't you have to assume that Medicare is a financial failure? This is what would happen if everyone was on a public option government program. If it were accompanied by an eventual government purging of private health insurers because of their inability to compete, the result would be catastrophic leaving citizens to the mercy of the government plan.
Private insurers could not keep operating at a loss without increasing premiums. The government would be able have low premiums and simply cover its losses by increasing taxes and printing and borrowing more money. Many health care providers would not feel it worthwhile to continue providing care with stingy reimbursement rates and, without tort reform, paying huge increases in malpractice fees. Without sufficient providers, the government itself would be forced into running health care facilities with government paid workers. Because of the huge increases in government spending it would then be forced to cut spending on national security and the military, reducing our country's ability to defend itself. Remember Europe really relies on the military power of this country for their defense so they were able to decimate their military to help pay for all its government entitlement programs. This would have catastrophic consequences for the free world allowing totalitarian regimes to spread their ideologies.
So I ask if Medicare is so inefficient, then why do well educated policy makers and politicians continue to want to expand it? You guessed it - it is all about control. Let's hope they don't succeed, and, if they do, we can elect politicians who can reverse the damage in 2010 and 2012. I hope we're not too late.

The Left Awakens a Sleeping Giant
Whether or not she becomes one of the final contenders for the 2012 Presidential race is immaterial at this point. Her ability to attract attention wherever she goes will serve as an excellent platform for a consistent conservative message in a time when our country yearns for a voice of reason in the Obama led quest toward a pseudo marxist/socialist republic bent on destroying personal accountability, wealth, and freedom. I am convinced that she will rise to the occasion and that the left will regret that all they have done is awaken a sleeping giant of whom our founding fathers would be most certainly proud.

Two Down, About 44 Long Months to Go
I can only hope that the people who voted for this incompetence are having serious second thoughts and will correct their mistakes in the next 22 to 44 months. I wish we didn't have to wait that long and hope that our country survives enough to reverse the damage that is yet to come.
